The new Italdron Controller App is an important project carried out by Italdron, ushering in the future of professional applications for all those who have chosen to purchase an Italdron drone.

The App, having undergone a lengthy process of improvement over the past version, now provides both a fully renewed interface and self-explanatory graphics.
But the innovative features do not regard appearance alone. Italdron’s goal in designing the new software was to create a full-fledged “ecosystem” in which the functions best suited to any need can be found. This was done by establishing a system of Plug-ins that provide extensions of the functions which clients will be able to acquire or select on the bases of exactly what they need to do.

The most important plug-ins include:

• Weather plug-in: used to calculate ideal flight times, as well as the weather conditions that are necessary or adequate for flying the UAC.

• Search&Rescue plug-in: used to localise the target of the search.

• Pilot FlightLog: allows the pilot to interface the App directly with the ENAC flight log, recording the hours in which the pilot flies the drone. It also reports any anomalies to the maintenance personnel, in addition to signalling when the machine should be inspected.

Italdron Controller will also control projects and missions through cloud technology, making possible remote management of all the operational details of each job, as well as the parameters of data acquisition: the ISO, exposure times, white balance and many other factors.
The new features of the software regard not only the planning of missions and the operation of the drone, but also the handling of the payload, which in many cases is a camera.

For aerial photogrammetric imaging, a mission generation function has also been introduced, meaning that the operator can use the App to calculate flight plans for photogrammetric imaging. The creation of the grid, the calculation of the intervals between the photos, the focal settings and the other parameters will be suggested by the application and can then be modified in accordance with the requirements of a given project.

As the Italdron system becomes increasingly integrated and unified, Italdron Controller represents one of the key elements in shortening the distance between the company and its partners.
